Fast-growing Paulownia wood fractionation by microwave-assisted hydrothermal treatment: A kinetic assessment

نویسندگان

چکیده

Microwave hydrothermal treatment (MHT), a novel advanced technology, was proposed for the fractionation of Paulownia wood (PW) at temperatures ranging 200–230 °C and residence times 0–50 min, corresponding to severities 2.93–4.70. This procedure allowed 80% xylan recovery as xylooligosaccharides an average 95% cellulose in pretreated PW biomass, showing selectivity treatment, that also compared conduction–convection heating autohydrolysis. Finally, kinetic model prediction using MHT, with ultimate goal being applied wide range feedstocks minimizing number parameters used. For that, two strategies were approached, allowing reduction 80 34 parameters, without significant influence fitting. To best our knowledge, this is first modelization MHT PW, taking into account all lignocellulosic fractions.

Technological Properties of Iranian Cultivated Paulownia Wood (paulownia Fortunei)

P. fortunei was imported into Iran from China and was planted at different spacings in the forest of the north of Iran, for wood production. In this research, physical, chemical, mechanical properties and morphological characteristics of Iranian cultivated paulownia (Paulownia fortunei L.) wood were investigated. Paulownia has acceptable Runkel, flexibility and slenderness coefficients, which a...

Microwave–Assisted Hydrothermal Synthesis and Optical Characterization of SnO2 Nanoparticles

Semiconductor nanoparticles exhibit size dependent properties due to quantum confinement effect that are not present in their bulk counterparts. In this work, extremely fine and pure SnO2 nanoparticles of ~1.1 nm size were synthesized by a solution process, in which amorphous precipitate of SnO2 was crystallized by microwave heating. The particles sizes varied from ~1.1 to ~2.7 nm. By XRD analy...
